Warsmith's Words: Iron Warriors Kill Team

Welcome back to the Vault! This week's hobby time has been spent working on a new Kill Team. A few of the First Founding regulars have been talking about playing some more Kill Team (the older edition we've all invested in and not played nearly enough of!), and I want to bring something new to the game board.

And so I've been building and painting Iron Warriors; dour soldiers of the IV Legion!

The first model is done bar the basing; I've even had a go at the Hazard Striping associated with Iron Warriors.

The list comprises 6 Marines and 3 Cultists:
  • Aspiring Champion; Bolt Pistol and Power Axe
  • Gunner: Auto Cannon
  • Gunner: Plasma Gun
  • 2 Bolter Marines
  • Marine with Bolt Pistol and Chainsword
  • 2 Cultists with Autoguns
  • Cultist with a Flamer.
The Cultists are painted, but the photos I took are rubbish; I'll post some better pictures in another post.

The foundations for the Marines is very simple; Nuln Oil over Army Painter Plate Metal spray. Then it's the super fun of painting trim with Runelord Brass. (Although to be fair there's a lot less fiddly bits than on Plague Marines).

First up is the Aspiring Champion:

Then the two Gunners. As a reminder that's Dark Oath Flesh on the Plasma dude's head.

And then the two other mooks:

The Spiky Marines are lovely scuplts! They are mostly from the Start Collecting Box, whilst the Aspiring Champion is from the new Eldritch Omens box.

Some of you might be wondering why I've chosen Iron Warriors; there is a story behind the decision which I'll share in a future post. Teasers!
